Tennessee Multiculture Center (TMC) is a major community organization established in 2008 to foster understanding and appreciation of different languages, culture and arts as well as the history of different countries in the state of Tennessee.
Tennessee is becoming a diversified melting pot with over 500,000 minority people from over one hundred countries residing here. According to the 2000 U.S. Census, over 200,000 of those minorities who live, study and work in Tennessee are of Asian and Middle Eastern decent. Many of these people came to the United states from countries such as China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, India, Thailand, Laos, Filipino, Iraq, Iran, and Israel. Moreover, families of non-Asian decent have adopted children from those nations. TMC was established to promote and enhance cross cultural understanding of one another's art and heritage in order to build healthy communities of vibrance and diversification.
